Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, as part of LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, has partnered with the LSUHSC School of Public Health and the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco Free Living (TFL) to provide tobacco cessation services to LSUHSC-S patients, hospital employees and the communities we serve. Cessation services are facilitated by the Tobacco Control Initiative, which provides evidence-based interventions that are cost effective, appropriate, and acceptable to patients.
LSUHSC-S health care providers can refer patients using the Tobacco Control Initiative's Outpatient Tobacco Cessation Referral form. Referred patients are offered the following cessation treatment options:
The next Tobacco Cessation class is scheduled Wednesday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Partners in Wellness conference room, which is in the Ambulatory Care Clinic on the corner of Kings Hwy and Linwood Ave. Evening classes will start in April.
