How do I get directions to Feist-Weiller Cancer Center? We provide FREE valet parking to our patients.
How do I get a loved one in for a consultation/appointment? The patient will first need to be diagnosed with cancer either at LSU HSC or at another facility. Once the patient has a diagnosis you may call the clinic at 318-813-1200 to schedule an appointment.
Which doctor will handle my cancer? That depends on you condition. You will be consulted on your initial appointment about this. Our clinical staff has impressive credentials and are dedicated to your care.
What is a clinical trial?
Can I participate in clinical trials? Yes. First consult with your doctor to see if you meet the medical qualifications and if you do, you may then choose to enroll in a clinical trial.
What FREE services are provided by Feist-Weiller Cancer Center? We provide our patients with many free services: Partners In Wellness, library, support groups, and screenings for various cancers such as prostate and head and neck.
Can I get a second opinion with out my current doctor knowing? Yes.
If I don’t have insurance can I still receive treatment at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center? Yes. We accept patients with or with out insurance. For further information regarding health plans, please contact Melanie Sotak at 318-675-7737.
Are Feist-Weiller Cancer Center doctors in network with the same insurance plans as LSU HSC Hospital? Yes. All of our doctors are in network. For a listing of contracted health plans click here. Because Feist-Weiller Cancer Center is a division under LSU HSC we accept most major health plans.

Each room has a phone for patient use. You may give your room's telephone number to friends and family so they can call you directly. Although patients may call outside the hospital at any time, incoming calls are blocked from 9:00PM until 7:00AM to allow our patients to rest. If you do not want to receive any phone calls at all, please tell your nurse to restrict your calls.
Identification badges are worn by all LSUHSC-Shreveport employees. The badge shows the employee’s name and photo, title or position, and the name of the department or unit where the employee works.
The cafeteria is on the ground floor of the hospital and offers hot meals, sandwiches, and salads. The cafeteria is open during the following hours:

The LSUHSC Gift Shop is on the first floor of the hospital and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 4:00PM. The Gift Shop has everything from balloons and candy to holiday gifts and toys, baby gifts and jewelry, as well as some common medications. For more information, please call 675-5530.
