Volunteers Bring Smiles to Patients' Faces

Read the Thoughts of an Arts in Medicine Volunteer who feels she gave so little, yet got so much.

Call for Volunteers

Volunteers for the Arts in Medicine program at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center gain valuable experience in a hospital setting. Volunteers are commissioned to take sketches and supplies to both youth and adult patients so they can paint while undergoing treatment. Patients paint individual squares that are combined to form a finished piece of art that is framed and hung on the walls at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center and the hospital. Both patients and volunteers learn about the original artist and the history of their masterpiece.

Click here for details about the Volunteer program. Adult volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.  We have special volunteer projects available for those younger than 18 who would like to volunteer.  Call 318.813.1423 for more details.
