The Feist-Weiller Cancer Center at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport (LSUHSC-S) is involved in clinical trials for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The Cancer Center brings together the many resources of LSUHSC in Shreveport to provide our patients with interdisciplinary care using the latest research and cancer treatments. Outreach and Telemedicine Programs successfully incorporate patients in underserved areas to Feist-Weiller Cancer Center clinical trials.

LSUHSC-S is a member of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG). In 2001, LSUHSC–S ranked 12th in SWOG for patient recruitment. The National Cancer Institute has recognized the institution for its success in recruiting patients for clinical trials. The Feist-Weiller Cancer Center also participates in pharmaceutical sponsored studies and our physicians initiate and implement clinical trials for patients.

The Feist-Weiller Cancer Center has a partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Area children can be treated on St. Jude protocols here.
