Prescription Renewal
If you are a patient at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center and need a prescription refill, you can call (318) 813-1201 – 24 hours a day. Leave a message with your name, the medication needed, your date of birth, your pharmacy name and phone number, along with a phone number where you can be reached. Prescriptions are called in at the end of the day on business days.

Who to contact in an emergency
If you have a real emergency, go to the LSU hospital Emergency Room or to the Emergency Room closest to you. If your problem is related to
chemotherapy, call (318) 813-1200 during business hours and ask for a chemo nurse. Nights, weekends or holidays call the hospital operator at (318)
675-5000 and ask for the “Hematology Fellow on call.”

Screening/Appointment process

Women who suspect a lump during their monthly self breast exam first should visit their Ob/Gyn or primary care physician. These physicians may order a mammogram and refer the patient to a Surgical Oncologist, depending on the results. Surgical Oncologists are specialists at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center who can handle referrals and diagnose true breast cancer with a biopsy.

Following a breast cancer diagnosis, Medical Oncologists at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center will treat the condition with state-of-the-art procedures. Patients who wish to be seen by Feist-Weiller breast cancer physicians should tell their doctor and they will refer you. Upon referral, patients can expect to be contacted by our staff to schedule an appointment.

What to expect on your first appointment
Registration for your appointment will be on the 1st floor. Upon completing a detailed medical history record, patients will undergo a complete physical exam.
