Director of a community-based cancer screening program, Partners in Wellness; Local P.I. for the nation-wide CDC Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program; Co-chair, Early Detection and Prevention Task Force for the Louisiana Cancer Control Partnership; Coordinator for the Northwest Louisiana portion of the Tobacco Control Initiative; Steering committee member, Louisiana Coalition for Tobacco Free Living; member of the Louisiana Colorectal Cancer Commission.

Research Interest

Cancer prevention and control. Major research interests have been in lung cancer early detection and cancer chemoprevention clinical trials. Current activities include screening and early detection, prevention clinical trials with Polyphenon E and other botanicals, and research into the effect of statins on prostate cancer risk.
